Mahtay’s top tips to being Mindful!
Ever feel like you are so caught up in your own day to day life you never really stop and take in what’s around you? Team Mahtay’s New Year’s resolution is to be more mindful day to day.
Here are our top 6 tips on how to be more mindful this year!
1)Pay more attention doing your daily tasks!
Paying more attention doing simple tasks such as brushing your teeth, taking a shower, eating breakfast or walking to work will give you time to reflect on your day, be still and also practice gratitude, before getting wrapped up in emails, work and other tasks!
2) Put your phone away!
Put your phone in a drawer for at least a couple of hours when you get home each evening, this will help you switch off and spend more quality time with your loved ones without becoming distracted by what’s on your phone!
3) Eat Well and get more sleep!
Be more mindful of what you are putting in your body. Eating too many sugary or fatty foods affects not only the waistline, but also emotions and overall feelings of well-being. Eating healthier can power the mind and body to feel better and more energised.
4) Get outside!
Take time out during the day, it’s so easy to spend all day at your computer without taking any breaks. Just taking one break throughout the day will help clear your mind and will result in being more effective at work! We suggest going for a walk, put your phone away and take in the city around you, enjoy the present!
5) Take time to think about all the things you are grateful for!
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in your own thoughts and feel stressed about not achieving something at work or not getting through your to do list. Stop and take time out and be grateful for the other things in your life! Taking this break will help you feel refreshed and relieve the stress that was creeping in.
6) Get a good night’s sleep!
Sleep is so important to feel good the next day so don’t cut back on it! Make sure you take some time to relax before bed in order to get a good night’s sleep!
